Psalm 62.11: “Once God has spoken, twice have I heard Him.”

Is this not true? How many times have you seen a movie, read a book, viewed a piece of art, had a conversation that reminded you of a verse in Scripture or vice versa. I have lately been reading The Brothers Karamazov and have seen many instances of this with certain passages in John’s Gospel and Ivan’s poem, The Grand Inquisitor. Or maybe you have conversations with different people and they each tell you the same thing: start writing. It started with my husband, then my counselor, then a priest, then two dear friends. Ok, ok. I’ll give it a shot.

My good friend, Sandra Penfield, inspired me with her blog. Years ago, before the birth of her first child, we had spoken of co-authoring a blog. I still have the journal I was using to come up with ideas for blog posts. I have since filled it up with thoughts from books, movies, Scripture, musings about faith, prayers, and poems.

I will try to post once a week. With summer break coming, that should be easily done. Meanwhile, please pray for me, as I will for you.

  1. Yay Jamie. I am so glad you are doing this! I used to be kind of snobby (if thats the word) about blogs, but have recently found some blogs that have been really a blessing! I know what you mean about God speaking to you in various ways. I had a few people recommend a book to me, and I was feeling like. Ok, I should take a hint. “If today you hear his voice, harden not your heart.”
